Statisticians workshop held in Colombo leading up to FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers campaign - 08th


COLOMBO (Sri Lanka) - The FIBA Regional Office Asia held a two-day statisticians workshop in Colombo from last week as the South Asian National Federation prepares to host upcoming FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifier games.

The workshop was held at the Colombo Sri Lanka Olympic House, attended by 15 participants who the federation will be aiming to use for their home games during the Asia Cup Qualifiers. Sri Lanka will be hosting their first home Asia Cup Qualifier on 26 November against Kazakhstan, an event which will be highly anticipated by the fans.

The workshop was the first ever held in the country, signifying the National Federation’s dedication to raise the level of basketball in the country.

"Sri Lanka will reach new heights in basketball statistics with the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers," said Dr. Chulapadma Senaratne, Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation (SBF).

"In view of this, the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation is grateful for the Regional Office in Asia in organizing this FIBA Statisticians workshop."

Sri Lanka will be hosting 3 home games throughout the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers. After playing against Kazakhstan on 26 November, they will then host Jordan on 29 November. They will then welcome the visiting Palestine team in the third window on 22 February, 2021.
